Jesus came with a clear and specific mission, and He stated it plainly in Luke 4 when He read from the scroll of Isaiah in the synagogue at Nazareth. He came to bring good news to the spiritually poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to set captives free from sin, to open the eyes of the spiritually blind, to lift up those who are crushed by life, and to proclaim a future hope that changes everything. The gospel is not a message about self-improvement or becoming a better version of yourself. It is the announcement that Jesus stepped into human brokenness and did what no person could ever do for themselves. He paid the price for sin, removed guilt and shame, and opened the door to a life defined by freedom, healing, and certain hope. The only question worth asking is whether you are ready to come to Him.
