Jesus told a parable about ten bridesmaids waiting for a groom. Five were prepared with enough oil for their torches, and five were not. When the groom arrived, the unprepared ones were shut out and told, 'I do not know you.' The oil in this parable represents the presence and filling of the Holy Spirit, and the story raises an urgent question for every believer: Are you staying full of the Spirit, or have you let your relationship with God run dry? Church attendance and good works are valuable, but they are not a substitute for a genuine, living relationship with Jesus Christ. Every day before His return is an opportunity to get right, stay ready, and keep your lamp burning bright.
